"SEW FOR HIM"

Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3

We had a very busy August through November and accomplished a great deal. God's provisions were abundant and as we sewed our little hearts out, the initial goals were met and then some.

Our handiwork is again reaching the Oglala Reservation in South Dakota via Kathy & Terry Michels. There are approximately 200 pre-school children on the reservation. We sent 225 blankets and 80 fleece hats for Christmas distribution. The remaining 45 blankets and 15 fleece hats have been donated to various day care centers in the Milford-Goshen area. There is a great need for mittens, our current project. We have the fleece fabric, purchased at a very reasonable price by the church. Our intention is to warm as many tiny hands as possible.

Looking to the future---we have cut out shorts and tank tops for children in Mexico and Haiti. The Richards, who minister in Reynosa, will be visiting our church early next year. Michelle Hock, who works with the boys at Joshua House in Haiti, will be here in October. Pastor Kevin has asked us to again have children's sewing workshops. We can assist them in making fleece hats. Pastor Kevin also requested our services in making puppets for Bible teaching. These can be cut out soon.

Now for the fun---wouldn't it be nice to have a show & tell night? We all enjoy different types of sewing, needlework, crafts, etc. Sharing is a great way to grow and learn, and the ministry benefits when we share. Any suggestions are welcome---see Donna Cunkelman, Kathy Miller or Carol Quest. We are continuing to meet on Sunday evenings at 6 P.M. when Operation Great Commission is in session.
